Forms Documentation

A form defines the web content, which is displayed in the front-end application, the Application User Interface, on runtime.

It can be used as the content of a to-do produced by a User Task or a document. The form behaves the same way in either: when the user submits the form, the document or to-do is submitted: the document instance ceases to exist and the to-do is accomplished and the execution of the process continues.

Important: Chart components of forms are based on Vaadin Charts developed by a third party. Make sure to obtain the Vaadin Chart licenses before you use them. The users of the your Application User Interface and Management Console, do not require any additional licenses.

The Standard Library provides multiple implementations of the forms themselves:

Generally UI::forms involve less coding but are not suitable for large forms with many reused parts since they can be difficult to debug and maintain. many reused parts since they can be difficult to debug and maintain. They are hence discouraged.
